About Me

Irene Mercadal

My name is Irene Mercadal. I am a Chilean chef and food blogger who moved to Georgia a year ago.

I started studying food engineering at The Pontificial Catholic University of Valparaiso, but since I love to have my hand in the dough (and calculus isn’t a good friend of mine) I changed to culinary school.
I have varied and wide working experience from cooking in restaurants and hotels in Chile and Spain, to being the owner of a canning company and taking part in the production of recipes and pictures for Paula magazine (the same magazine in which Isabel Allende start writing)

At present, I have a website with my name. There, I share and teach recipes and tips for traditional Chilean food, and some Latin American dishes. I am also trying to recover some old recipes.
